About Us
Spinning and Weaving Support Company (SWSC) is led by Pamela and David Van Stralen, whose lives and careers have been deeply rooted in the fiber arts for more than 30 years.
David quite literally grew up in the world of spinning and weaving—surrounded by Louët wheels and looms, sheep in the field, and vats of hand-dyed yarn. His mother, Trudy Van Stralen, opened a retail fiber shop in Prescott, Ontario in 1976, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong family involvement in the industry. In the late 1980s, the Van Stralen family operated Louët Sales, the North American distributor for Louët equipment.
David and Pamela formally joined the business in 1994, and from that point forward have supported spinners and weavers around the world. Over the decades, David has assembled and serviced thousands of looms and spinning wheels, provided in-home visits, telephone and online support, and helped create many of the instruction manuals, videos, and resources still used today in the Louët support ecosystem.
In 2026, we launched Spinning and Weaving Support Company to continue that tradition—this time with a focus on producing and distributing LoftyFiber 3D-printed products to customers outside the United States, alongside ongoing technical support for the fiber community. We are also working for LoftyFiber providing expertise and support for LoftyFiber customers everywhere.
Our mission remains simple:
If you’re having a problem with any make of spinning wheel or weaving loom, we’re here to help.
We’re starting with a small but thoughtful product assortment and will continue to grow and evolve—guided by real-world experience, curiosity, and the needs of spinners and weavers everywhere.
Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
